  I’m old enough to remember the moment when enough of the Greatest Generation had died so the GOP could start in on how FDR had been a failure.

  When the Greatest* were alive they’d talk your ear off about how FDR had saved the country and what a great leader he was.

  But the New Deal was way too Socialist to be allowed today.

  *Please don’t yammer about they weren’t ‘great’ because of the racism and sexism and imperialism. “Greatest Generation” is the commonly accepted term.
