First, you have to have an idea people will support.
You don’t.
And look, I’m all about nurses needing even more respect and support than they get. A shit ton more, along with better pay.
But you done fucked up. First, doctors are also front line. It’s a different kind of job for sure, but they’re all over the place, in hospitals. As much or more than nurses in terms of being exposed to a wide range of pathogens. Yeah, it depends on specialty as to how much roaming they do, and ER/trauma docs tend to have as high or higher exposure rates that lead to illness. Only slightly lower assault rates, last time I saw numbers.
You don’t have to downplay doctors to hype nurses.
But secondary to that, you’ve got the issue that when doctors get roads named for them, it’s usually for major research contributions, and nursing just isn’t a research specialty.
I do, however, agree that career nurses that contribute to their community should get way more recognition than their name on a bench in an atrium or garden. But it isn’t a 1:1 thing in terms of silly shit like naming roads
