was there at least any legal procedure through Italian courts? or did they just decide to single handedly censor a whole organization?

Italy didn’t do anything. The US decided unilaterally to disable their org domain. If any, some Italian political parties have presented a parliamentary interrogation on the matter

That will take a few years, but if the domain name company isn’t Italian, then the court can’t really do anything.
So A/I just needs to change domain name providers. No biggie.

this is insane and absolutely unacceptable. I guess this is the end of .org and such being a good choice for a domin name. if the operator is not willing to fall in line with the openly fascist USA, they can and will just take you down too
