Comment on So Austistici/Inventati just got designated as a "global terrorist organisation" by the Trump administration, what do I do now?

  Google provides search results for everything under the sun, legal or not. AWS is used by real terrorists. Microsoft Azure is used in genocides. Palantir is used to prop up the surveillance state. Meta advertises child porn. X is providing communication services for far right groups. I do not see them being designated a terrorist group - providing infrastructure for communication is not the same as being a terrorist. If you can’t differentiate that, you are either brainwashed or a fascist yourself. Be ashamed, if you are even able to.

      They hate us because they are fascists and hate is their core concept. And we’ve seen how much of a fuck they give when we try to converse with them on equal ground over the last decades. Never forget what Sartre said:

      Discourse with a fascist is useless in the vast majority of cases. What isn’t useless is to show the inhumanity, selectivity and selfishness of their language when shown in a public forum. Note how they started acting after Walz started naming these people “weird”. They don’t cope well with being shown to be what they really are. Chastising them for being inhuman drekheads and naming things as they are is not “cringy”, it is an imperative.

    Incorrect. Certain entries can be delisted. Google is e.g. using lumendatabase.org for that.

    I have no idea what this discussion has to do with e. g. Planatir as they don’t provide hosted services to users.

    To stay on the topic: non of these services explicitly allow or endorse terroristic content on their platform.

      By default they list everything. You can contact them and remove stuff, but by default all the smut, trash and bullshit of the web gets indexed. A/I would remove illegal content too, but this wasn’t even tried. Don’t deflect.

      Palantir provides infrastructure, same as the others. They fit well, especially when viewed from the perspective of who you are allowed to provide services to on basis of ideology.

      A/I also do not explicitly allow or endorse terroristic content. They provide infrastructure for communication to people, same as any other hoster or mail provider. Only difference is their antifascistic stance and that they have been repeatedly the target of repressive actions.

      And no, only the people who attack antifascist infrastructure based on the words of a nazi government - You know, the currrent US administration - are fascists or fascist bootlickers. Need examples?

I´ll let you in on a secret: the only people who perceive antifa as terrorists are fascists) -The assault on public education at large and the attempt at rewriting history, trying to color slavery as something positive for PoC -The bullying of every ally the US ever had on the international stage, similar to how Hitler started bullying the countries surrounding Germany in the leadup to WW2 -The threats of invasion, annexation and exposure of long-term allies to enemy aggression

If you are just a brainwashed, lost soul, stop watching the crap Youtube and Meta are throwing in your face, you are too easily influenced to discern the difference between neonazi propaganda and reality. If you are a true believer in that shit, my condolences go to the part of your family that doesn’t want to have contact with you anymore (probably your kids and ex-wife), and the rest of what i would put here is intentionally self-censored, but you will probably get the gist.

  • sabotaging rail systems across France, Italy, Germany, and the Netherlands
  • sabotaging the Transalpine Pipeline (TAL)
  • doing multiple arson attacks and acts of sabotage against Germany’s rail and energy infrastructure (probably referring to “Vulkangruppe”)

  Polictical ideology is irrelevant when you knowingly provide a platform for terrorists you will end up in legal trouble.

  there is a legal procedure that should happen then, not an immediate takedown! trump’s puppets should contact the Italian authorities, get court approval to request data, if they don’t comply then get the court to seize hardware, or whatever else they do before that. did any of that happen here?

    No, it didn’t, because A/I hasn’t broken any laws, just as google doesn’t break any law when indexing neonazi propaganda that is illegal in germany. A/I has been under legal attack more than once, and it is very obvious that it didn’t work, because nothing they do is illegal.

    Designating someone as a terrorist in a country where the law and justice mean something should need a previous sentencing for a crime that gives a legal basis for such a designation (aka planning or executing attacks, murders, blackmail, you know, the stuff the current US administration is very guilty of). This designation is the equivalent to sentencing someone to life in prison without any legal defense; the US executive took the place of Jury, Judge and Executioner all at once.
