Model what works elsewhere and do more of this, to reduce wait times and costs and more good wage and secure jobs:
A study of 39 countries found that 69% have implemented “task shifting” from physicians to nurses or other advanced practitioners. Most developed health systems already do this to some degree. The U.S. is actually unusual in how much it restricts NP/PA scope of practice at the state level.

My wife found a GP for the family, and saw the doctor every time, because she has a few chronic issues. I always saw the NP, because all I ever get is a sinus infection or something every year or so. We went to that doctor for five years before I ever actually met the doctor.
