I just cheked, you can literally search “minecraft free” on play store, and find countless minecraft clones there. Why wouldnt googel and microslopt take down this games?

Probably because none of those “malware in disguise” listings are popular enough to be a threat to their bottom line.

They’re probably not worried about slop copycats ripping people off.
But Luanti is a solid, evolving, open source project and thus an actual threat.
