I think theres more going on than what the government is admitting to. I think they’ve made the calculation that they don’t have broad enough support to really push back hard, which basically makes Australia cucks to whatever the orange cheeto and the child murderers desire.

But this is me speculating, because I can’t fathom why a government that bases itself on broadly humanitarian principles wouldn’t be acting in the way the Spanish government has been acting.
