    I could care less what distro you’re using, but if you’re using the wrong desktop environment, I will have a real conniption fit and write a 31-page rant on why your DE is a bloated, rigid mess.

      Half of people hate gnome and will bite your head off for mentioning it, the other half loves and uses it with little to no issue. I’m a gnome guy and don’t like KDE (yes I’ve tried it multiple times) but if they fix a few things I could see switching.

        I think I’m the weird one who likes different DEs for different use-cases

        Gnome is great on a laptop with a track pad. It feels a bit like MacOS with its gestures and how it behaves.

        On my main desktop that I use a mouse to navigate, KDE all the way.

        On the few VMs that I run GUI apps on, I like LXQT (Lubuntu or Debian) for how few resources it uses.
