Comment on One In Five Drivers Switches Off The Safety Tech Meant To Save Their Lives
TehPers@beehaw.org 1 day agoOh, this makes sense. I don’t think I ever once used sport mode on my old car, and I rarely have a use for it on my new one (basically only if I feel like taking it to a track which is on my list but not anytime soon). Sport mode doesn’t make much sense outside of actual sport cars anyway.
I’ve seen eco modes, but those seem to be mostly on hybrids I believe? If I could have gotten one, I’d probably have it set to that the whole time for local driving, but hybrids are so popular here that it wasn’t a reasonable option sadly.

My car has eco, standard, and sport modes. In my case all they do is adjust the amount of initial acceleration available.

The modes just change the throttle mapping because some drivers just mash the gas and brake.

Yup, especially on EVs
