My take is that right now we’re in a software building boom. Making software is a lot cheaper now but maintaining software not as much. I think programmer numbers right now have flatlined but will probably grow in the future as we write more software.
Pivoting to trades is a much safer choice and healthcare will be a guaranteed job security because of demographic changes.

Not gonna deny it. I’m very happy that at my company we’re good enough to do the code gatekeeping so the code doesn’t become shit. Judging from a bunch of devs I’ve worked with they’ll write themselves into a corner using AI at the speed of sound instead of asking for help on how to restructure.
