It is a good tool for coding. I could complain about data mining issues with non local stuff like claude… But what really bothers me is how some programmers dont even check its output. For work they get PAID to do. Im not even talking about not checking the code. They dont even check the product to see if it works or not. I have had 2 cases of this on freelance contracts so far.
Comment on I could quit AI anytime I want to

AI is a great help for coding. Not a substitute. But in general, the way ai is applied to everything it’s just annoying. I don’t need it in my search, my shopping, my car or anything like that. A tool is a tool and should be used responsibly. I mean I don’t try to chop my vegetables with a chainsaw, just because the chainsaw looks cooler than my knife and in theory can also chop vegetables as well.

There is no good use for LLMs and media generation as a whole, because none of the possible uses justify the costs of making these tools.
Expert programs (patern recognition, protein folding, speech generation) on the other hand, go right ahead.

I think those expert programs get labeled as ai anyway. Then the laundry thinks they can just ask any llm “how do I cure cancer”

That’s the reason why i always make sure to separate the two.

It can be an efficient tool to create a base for further work. If is have to choose between a programmer slaving away for weeks or months to build a solid framework, or an ai doing it in a few hours, I’d pick the ai, since it uses less resources. The programmer is better applied at working out the kinks and specifics.

I disagree but i have no changing of mind to give or to take.
