I’m not one to defend DD here, I stopped using them years ago. But strangers are preparing your food too. The driver is just one additional set of hands in the supply chain that brought food to your home.
DD still sucks, for the record.

This is true but those people are at least on camera and surrounded by other people holding them accountable.
Don’t get me wrong I’ve seen some wild wild shit before at restaurants so of course they can still do messed up stuff to the food but having some guy pick it up and ride off with no accountability is super sketchy to me

That’s what makes DD special, though. They absolutely could hold drivers accountable and all that. Other delivery services in the past used to be much more reliable and provided better experiences. Uber Eats is, to a minor extent, a moderately better platform to work with. I still don’t trust them with my business though.
So it’s not delivery services per se.
DD though, is absolutely trash by their own accord.
