My unpopular opinion is that 100k is the inevitable enshittification threshold.
Mind you the Fediverse might help because there’s no reason not to have hundreds of instances with tens of thousands of users.

i think too many jumped shipped as soon as one instance shut down, thereby reducing the amount of users. lemmy needs to grow alot
