Thornburywitch@aussie.zone 1 week agoI fully agree. This is why I moved into a 2 bedroom unit when I downsized. One room for me (not negotiable) and one for whoever with a mattress on the floor. I don’t own a big enough couch for sleeping on (unless you are a cat). Funnily enough, my sons plus girlfriends of the day suddenly stopped treating my place as a sports hotel quite as often.

You know. The Melbourne Cup is on, or the Grand Final, so one’s offspring come home like swallows to their roost each summer, along with gfs, expecting free accommodation and food for 3 days. Then they depart, leaving a mountain of laundry behind and an empty freezer. I got jack of it. Happily, there’s a budget motel only one block away from my current location so they’ve got no excuse going forward. And lots of dining options on High St. Grump/rant over.
