For me, the image uploads but I get the error when I try to post.
I found that if I remove the script around the hyperlink that makes it display, I can post the link to the lemmy-uploaded image.
At present it’s my only work around.

you mean creating or updating a post with embedded images is causing issues in some cases?

Its the initial upload of the image. The 505 problem happens regardless if it’s a fresh comment or an edited comment trying to add the image.
