TranscendentalEmpire@lemmy.today 2 days agoUnfortunately there are a lot of different types of nurses with varying degrees of education and ability to discharge care. Some of the stuff that nursing assistants and even some LPN have to do is pretty grueling. I think a lot of nursing schools that act almost as certification mills kinda mislead a lot of students on what they’re going to be doing.
But overall nursing is a great job if you have the right education, a lot of RN and especially APRN can basically find a job anywhere in the country virtually overnight and make pretty good pay.
If she is still interested in nursing, I would suggest a more traditional education route instead of an LPN school. As an RN or APRN you can pick and choose where you work and with what patient population.
