Pretty sure the Trump admin has been making cuts to the national forest service, the supposed goal is to weaken oversight and boost resource extraction.

So yes, they probably would try to get rid of fire departments. Fortunately, though, most of them are locally funded - so they don’t really get to make that decision on the federal level.
