From the few times I’ve had properly made Indian food, I’d generally not call things spicy, but certainly lively. The flavors don’t tend to be subtle at all. Lady I worked with made her own curries and just a tiny bit was enough to flavor a whole bowl of rice.

They’re so much variety to Indian food. Some of it is very much hot spicy. I used to work with a guy who would bring in his wife’s samosas for me and boy those things burnt like hell. Loved ever second. I should see if he’s down for a drink sometime soon

True, there where often these little green chilies in her stuff she was sure to warn about. Not sure what type exactly but the did bite back.

Theres so much variety to India in general, it’s a huge country and people forget that big countries with a wide spread have a lot of diversity within their own populations. I dont think we do a good job explaining that when we are in school, how huge countries arent like one enormous monoculture but a collection of a mosaic of people who all fall belong under a flag but are distinct and unique from region to region.
