“layed”
That’s not a word, independent of meaning and context. It’s “laid”.
This sent me down a bit of a rabbit hole! Apparently “layed” used to be a well-accepted form. “The hens layed 22 eggs each”, etc.
But it looks like it was tapering off in use during the 1700s. Laid was almost always more common even during the 1500s according to Google ngrams.
So you’re saying we’re dealing with an 18th century game dev here?
Is that truly the impression you got from my post, or are you just being snarky?
