Maybe he got anxiety issues and talking to ChatGPT was helping?
Not saying that it’s good. But given that there is a sufficient lack of alternatives, I wouldn’t hold that against him.

I’m more worried about such a person than holding stuff against them.
Treating a chat bot like an acquaintance leads to some poor mental health outcomes.

Well I try to be easy to talk to, but I’m not going to be “What a clever idea” to everything brought up to me no matter what, so I won’t be as “nice” as a GenAI chatbot ever.
