You don’t see the difference between a parent deciding this for their child vs. the child doing it themself?

Age verification laws certainly wouldn’t stop parents from uploading pictures of their children, the parents are adults after all…

Not all (not even nearly all) “social media” typically involves posting pictures of oneself, e.g. how many times do you see pictures of users here on Lemmy? But I’m not aware of any age verification law that is limited to websites where people can post pictures of themselves.
