Comment on Why is it a bad thing for a host of SNL to bring in their own or other writers to help write jokes and stuff? Wouldn't it take some of the pressure off the SNL writers? If they all agree on things?

I’m not a comedy writer so I can’t speak to that and I do think it’s a novel idea that would put money into hands of writers so I’m always for that but I don’t know how practical that is. I have seen hosts talk about late night production and I know that’s a very specific and streamlined process, probably more so as an almost nightly show, but television is a very high pressure industry. I also can’t imagine producers would be willing to let go of their decades of trial and error insights for a wet noodle approach, not all comedy translates well to TV or to the audience SNL is serving.
