echodot@feddit.uk 5 days agoIt’s a very very old engine though. As funny as it is to put a pot on someone’s head I really hope the AI have a bit more brains in this one. It would also be nice if they could stall the interior of buildings inside the exterior so I don’t have to look at a loading screen whenever I open a door.

The original unreal engine not UE5 which has been replaced with UE6 now apparently. I don’t think they’ve ever updated the creation engine. One of the reasons that Starfield was so claustrophobically boxed in is because it can’t support very large maps because you can’t move the origin point around, a feature that is present in virtually all 3D game engines including the free open source ones. Hell even the original source engine would have been able to cope with that.
