Comment on Feels like someone's podcasts are being heavily promoted
phar@lemmy.world 4 days agoNot only that, podcasts range a lot of different formats. Some are people talking to each other. Some are one person talking about a specific topic. Some are stories like books or movies but are radio dramas etc. I understand maybe not wanting to listen to anything you’ve found, but it’s a bit like saying you don’t want to read because it’s always about the news. Lots of stuff to listen to/read.

That’s all true. But I’m still firmly of the belief that the correct form of Podcast is some combination of British trans woman, Brooklyn journalism washout, and Philadelphia engineer talking about classic movies, election news, and engineering disasters.

I like the radio dramas a lot. It’s different from a book on tape because it’s made for the format. I drive quite a distance for work and it’s a nice unwind.
