Comment on New textbook for 9th grade students in Greece promotes right and alt-right ideology
olenkoVD@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 weeks agoWell, most men are objectively stronger than an average woman, are they not? It’s not about superiority, it’s about a fact you need to keep in mind before picking a fight. Of course this is true, but it this combined with the other points teaches girls that it’s normal for men to use violence and therefore they should fear them.
You wouldn’t want every anti-vax and Holocaust/Holodomor denier teacher to teach only their point of view, right? They should make clear, at least in a neutral way, what the government/societal consensus thinks. Yes, but what if the government is the one supporting these ideologies. In my opinion this is to protect children from the teachers that lean left on the political spectrum, not to protect them from misinformation. (Although you’re right, in your specific case it helps)

Don’t see these points in the snippets you provided. Some men use violence, and they should account for that when calculating a path. Don’t see a better way to teach it.
Scientific consensus can be taught in a neutral way.
