Brilliant! Now they’re going to have to put up my bill again to pay for this. The shareholders won’t have their profits impacted by rulings like this.

Water and Sewage Companies are unable to increase bills to cover penalties.

What happens when they simply increase bills and say “Nothing to do with fines!”? We know they are going to increase them again.

During the price review period (back in 2024 and due again in 2029) WaSC publish their business plans. Along with this the companies performance is reviewed for the last period. WaSC will recieve the go ahead to raise bills to cover the improvements / investments they’ve made. OFWAT then accepts the business plans or rejects those who aren’t meeting the targets.
