In the US, we have anesthesiologists who are medical school doctors who specialize in anesthesiology. We also have nurse anesthetists who are registered nurses with additional training in anesthesia, and physicians assistants who have a masters degree level of medical school plus specialty training in anesthesia. Physicians assistant certification hasn’t caught on outside of the US.

We have all of that in the UK.
The problem is the last 14 years of conservative government intentionally prevented people from training and now there are too few qualified people.
