Late2TheParty@lemmy.world 3 weeks agoI mean, a LOT of young people from the US died to make it happen. Yeah, it was winding down, but people from the US joined up in Canada and Britain and etc to help before the US officially joined. We can recognize their heroic efforts without snark.

Well my Canadian family was in the war years before the Americans ended their isolationist policy and only my grandfather returned. We also declared war on Japan after Pearl Harbour before even the USA did.
