Hitler lost the election for president; but was later appointed as chancellor by the guy that won after political pressure;
Mussolini was appointed by the king after threats of paramilitary force;
Leopold II was a hereditary monarch

The problem with that argument, especially on Lemmy, is that… Well actually basically none of us voted for him, thus we didn’t elect him, he was just elected by the other people

I would give them a pass to shit on the people here who loudly and prouly scream that they did not vote at all. Depending on the communities that you focus on, you may get the impression that every Amercan on lemmy did not vote, and just want to piss and cry that they did not get the candidate (or communist revolution) that they preferred. Am American and voted for Kamala, not because I actively wanted her, but because you have to be pretty far gone to not be able to see she would have been better on EVERY front, INCULDING PALESTINE!
