Are you forgetting that Trump won by a very slim margin?
Some americans are really fucking stupid, but a lot of them aren’t.
Their political system, though, is awful and captured by a two-party system which is why things don’t change. Ideally both parties should splinter off into two other parties of equal size, so things are more balanced.
It would probably end up as an actual social democratic party, one centrist democratic party, one right leaning conservative party, and a party of the right wing extremists who love Trump no matter what he says or does.
And I assure you every other country on the planet has a substantial percentage of moron as well.

And what are the ones in the slim margin?

Of they ever voted for, or even considered voting for Trump, they morons of course.
The man was an obvious con artist, pathological liar, untrustworthy, racist, piece of shit ever from the start. There was never a moment in time when liking Trump wasn’t a bad thing.

Mostly normal people just like you and me who simply grew up in different environments, had different experiences, and came to different conclusions about what the problems are and how to solve them. Like most people, they generally want safety, economic security, and a decent life for them and their families. Dismissing them as stupid is usually just a way of avoiding having to understand why they see things differently.
