No point being harsh on yourself if it doesn’t work anyway. Some people benefit from the OP kind of motivation. For others, it only makes things worse.
Ultimately, it’s not you who should adapt to any slogan, it’s the slogan that needs to adapt to you. I, personally, find gentler ways work way better for me.
