Comment on How come the US does not welcome the so called "immigrants" and when they get a job or are waiting for their green card just tax them some more until citizens? Would solve many problems.

Ah I’m sorry, yeah I get your line of thought. There are some visas and pathways to citizenship that come with higher fees that are kind of like what you’re thinking.

But yeah, immigrants pay a lot of taxes in the US (which also varies by state). It’s a detail that a lot of people don’t really think about when talking about immigrants and the issues therein.

I like your questions because they almost always stir a good bit of replies. Which sometimes kicks off deeper conversations which is fun!
