br3d@lemmy.world 1 month agoPHEV are also petrol cars. There’s been at least two studies now showing that in the real world they’re rarely plugged in, meaning not only are they burning oil, but they’re burning extra oil to lug a battery and spare motor around

There was a study about 5 years ago that showed hybrids also had the most expensive lifetime cost of ownership.
