In a sane world, this would push the LNP into offering a middle ground: unapologetically right-of-centre policies, but drawing the line short of crank stuff like expelling women from the workforce or declaring the country to be an Anglo-Celtic monoculture. Though with the party being Abbott’s fiefdom, there’s not much hope of that.

Hopefully the Greens can broaden their appeal on the left flank and let the ALP achieve its destiny of becoming the broad-church moderate centre-right party the country is missing.
