neomachino@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 days agoI’ve only known them a couple years, but I think he wasn’t always like this. From what I hear he was a pretty cool guy back in the day, weird, but cool. Nowadays he watches YouTube shorts all day and complains about how everyone’s being brainwashed on tick tok. So I think he thinks he’s a free thinker while actively being brainwashed by the same thing he thinks he’s avoiding.
At the same time for someone to be so heavy into so many awful opinions they had to have always been there. Maybe he just hid them before but feels like he can openly talk about stuff because of the state of the current world.

That’s tragic. I hope his daughters can rise above the influence of that kinda messaging in their lives and maybe he can get a better grasp on reality but I think we’re all desperately trying to figure out what combination of words can do that for someone
