neomachino@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 week agoThey do… And I really don’t like to talk bad about children because it almost always comes down to the parenting, but they were some of the most miserable, rude children I’ve ever encountered. They were awful to my toddler in so many ways.
To be fair they’re both girls and they had to hear their dad go on a 20 minute rant about how all women should quit the workforce and stay at home continuously popping out as many babies as they can because they’re less capable than men but more nurturing. That started from me saying “a single income household should become achievable again”.
For a little more context that no one asked for but I think adds to it: his wife is a full on doctor, hard working, comes home and takes care of the kids and the house, and is an actual person.

I’ve only known them a couple years, but I think he wasn’t always like this. From what I hear he was a pretty cool guy back in the day, weird, but cool. Nowadays he watches YouTube shorts all day and complains about how everyone’s being brainwashed on tick tok. So I think he thinks he’s a free thinker while actively being brainwashed by the same thing he thinks he’s avoiding.
At the same time for someone to be so heavy into so many awful opinions they had to have always been there. Maybe he just hid them before but feels like he can openly talk about stuff because of the state of the current world.

That’s tragic. I hope his daughters can rise above the influence of that kinda messaging in their lives and maybe he can get a better grasp on reality but I think we’re all desperately trying to figure out what combination of words can do that for someone
