  Parking garages are expensive. You can spend $30,000 to build a space… At $50 a game you’d pay it off in 7.5 seasons, not controlling for maintenance and operating costs.

  Now the trend is to build entertainment districts around venues… Which creates more revenue per square foot, so you’ll start to see more garages going up.

    A parking garage couldn’t possibly cost more than a subway system, especially when you factor in the ongoing costs of operations, security, maintenance, etc. A parking garage is a big static building, a subway is an entire SYSTEM of many moving parts.

      Yeah, I get it. The question was why did they build massive surface lots instead of garages. The answer is looking at historic decision-making.

        I suspect that this massive subway system will be excavated by Musk’s stupid Boring Company, which is based in LA. Just another massive taxpayer giveaway to the richest man on history.
