  A fourth midwife described a “frightening place to work”, where shifts were frantic and standards could slip - while a fifth recalled having been the only person on shift capable of analysing babies’ heart rates using a monitoring machine.

  She remembers “running in and out of people’s rooms” and fearing a mother or baby would die because of a lack of appropriate staff. “Sometimes we’d work all night without food or a loo break. People were exhausted.”

    Yeah, that’s the actual problem, not the fact they blow off some steam by using some rude terms behind patients back.

  They have a serious job and they should take it seriously.

  There is no room for this kind of behavior when you have peoples lives in your hands.

      No there isn’t, this kind of behaviour allows them to dehumanise their patients.

      Do you really think that people with FOH marked against them are getting the best care from the staff who would rather they Fuck Off.

      In isolation you could argue it’s just humor and blowing off steam, but with the rest of the failures documented it’s a chilling view of what the staff really think of their patients. And if you support that you nothing more than a ghoul.

  Their negligence lead to death and injury.

  The medical field always seems to get infinite leeway when it comes to the rules written in blood.

  How would you feel if your house burned down because your electrician was “understaffed” and “just needed to blow off some steam”.
