Wait. Is that last one historical? I’d never heard it, but it seems just as accurate as “I can’t have a meal, but meals are eaten in the rectory and prepared in the kitchen. So if I take something from the pantry and eat it in my room, it’s not a meal and bacon is OK”

The swabian dish Maultaschen are also called Herrgottsbescheißerle (Herrgott = Lord/God, bescheißen = to scam/fool someone) in dialect. Its cooked pork and vegetables wraped in pasta dough.
The legend behind the name is that they could be eaten during lent because the omnipotent and omniscient God couldn’t see the meat inside.
