ricdeh@lemmy.world 4 days agoIt is called a decimal separator. Should be obvious why languages that use a point for it would call it “decimal point”. Other languages refer to it as comma.

It really bugged me until I realize it basically means 919 euros AND 0 cents.
Whereas in North America we basically would say $919.99 meaning $919 dollars and 99% of a dollar.
