  IPv6 on a small network can just use mDNS just fine. Larger networks, you would have a DNS server anyways.

  If you selfhost, chances are you selfhost something like pihole. I myself use TechnitiumDNS and it also serves .lan hosts as well.

  Works like charm. 10/10 would recommend.
