Marathon itself is a renewal of (if I recall correctly) Bungie’s first major IP before Halo, which was (also if I recall correctly) initially a Macintosh exclusive game.
It’s well and alive, they just launched a new game called Marathon and it was on top 10 on Steam most played a few weeks ago.

I think the game is just dying already too, I remember seeing on top 10 most played, but currently it’s not even in the top 100 list. The world is healing.

Destiny 2’s future was canceled as of last week. June 9 is the last update the game ever receives, and it’s all the balance tweaks the team had been planning for the next year, crammed into one update. Sony is also doing significant layoffs at Bungie following that. I wouldn’t call that well.
