Comment on .ml has got to be the only place on earth where I'd get downvoted for a comment like this
deathmetaldawgy@lemmy.ml 1 day agoNo, I know you’re lying. You and the other person that responded to me with this little factoid y’all must love. I can promise you if a Chinese citizen thinks it’s worthwhile to access any “banned” websites like Lemmy in China they’ll just download a fucking VPN like the rest of the world. What, you think they’re scared of your Tiananmen Square posts? You know Reddit is still taking users? this ain’t r/neoliberal

Lemmy.ml is blocked in China. You have to subvert the Chinese government to access it. That ok with some people I suppose. So you have to use foreign technology to access foreign sites from China… that’s ?freedom? baby.

Subvert the government. lol. Yall are scared of your own shadows. I have to also subvert my government to watch Netflix shows or download music. Scary authoritarianism oh my god.

Make public statements and publications in support of lgbtq+ in a city in China. See how that goes for you.

This is a lie. You can publicly support lgbt and be openly gay or trans in China. Unlike some places in the US where trans people are being killed and there have been over 200+ pieces of legislation against trans people in the US.
