I think you may be experiencing bone conduction hearing? I’m deaf in my left ear, but the ear its self works perfectly, it’s the nerve connecting my ear to my brain that’s gone bad. When I get a hearing test the do both normal hearing and bone conduction hearing tests and there is a difference in what I can hear between the tests.
