In 2023-2024 I had a job where I quickly became aware that I was working much harder than they were paying me and I started to track every dollar against my efforts, becaming increasingly aware & bitter that 5 hours a week I was breaking my body as an unpaid volunteer because that’s how much the govt was deducting from my paychecks.
