What exactly was the error you were getting when trying to install the games?

Could it have been something like a missing DLL that you would normally have from installing almost anything else on those machines at the time?

I’ve also noticed that my old game collection runs much better on Linux (using wine) than it does on Windows with compatibility enabled.
