FiniteBanjo@feddit.online 12 hours agoYes, you’re not going to vote to have less money for an election cycle while your opponents have full access to all the dark money they desire, that’s why they need to reverse Citizens United and in order to do that we need to give them enough senators for constitutional amendments.

It’s a bit more complicated than that. Senators only affect 1/4th of the process.
To propose amendments, two-thirds of both houses of Congress can vote to propose an amendment, or two-thirds of the state legislatures can ask Congress to call a national convention to propose amendments.
To ratify those amendments, three-fourths of the state legislatures must approve them, or ratifying conventions in three-fourths of the states must approve them.

Accomplishing the 67 Senate seats would be manageable and likely accomplish the other goal at the same time. And while I endorse the DNC it doesn’t have to be them, we just need to acknowledge the GOP are the scum of the earth holding back progress and remove as many as possible in order to see progress in the USA.
