china still gets an oil squeeze, where russia doesnt. They are also allies so its not that bad for either of them. But certainly it isn’t any type of ‘victory’ for the USA. They’re pretty much losing on all fronts.

China would have gotten an oil squeeze IF they hadn’t worked out a deal with Iran to let Chinese oil tankers pass through the strait.
I believe you’re getting cause and effect mixed up here.
