True. Star Wars complicates the question, since Episode 1 came 16 years after Episode 3, but Episode 1 is a prequel and the real sequel appeared 32 years later.
Still, this feels different since we didn’t have to wait 32 full years for more content expanding the saga

Well Eddy Murphy’s other recent movie was Coming 2 America in 2021. Which was a sequel to Coming to America from 1988. Blade runner 2049 is a later sequel though with 35 years, not sure if it’s the longest.
