When I lived in Florida, I used to teleport to Waffle House all the time, too. Usually it happened shortly after someone decided we should switch from weed and beer to weed and whiskey.

If you listen to hist story, he was driving and talking to his family who seemed to be worried about him in the moment for undisclosed reasons during the phone call…
And the next thing he remembered was calling his family from a Waffle House and they were even more scared…
99.99% he was wasted driving somewhere, blacked out and stopped answering his phone, family assumed he wrecked or got pulled over, but then found out he drove to a waffle house 50 miles away, which might have just been the area he was drinking in.
But with people like this, you can’t tell them they’re wrong because they’ll never admit.
So the family just let him say it, he started really believing that’s what happened, and now is expecting everyone else to just accept it, but he’s not our drunk dad, we have no pressure to agree to make the conflict go away.
